Carrie Kelly, MD
Associate Professor of Medical Education in Pediatrics
Dr. Kelly is a pediatrician who teaches in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years in small group learning, large groups/SPAs, clinical skills, simulation, ultrasound, procedures, Community and Population Health (Clarke Middle Health Center), and Resilience and Professional Identity Formation. She is an official career advisor and also mentors students on an unofficial basis when needed. She serves on several committees related to curriculum and faculty searches.
Kelly grew up in Midway, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate degree and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta for her MD. She did her residency in Greenville, South Carolina, in pediatrics, and then moved back to Athens to continue her career. She practiced in Watkinsville, Georgia, for 12 years and began teaching third-year medical students from the Medical Partnership about six years into her practice. This is when she developed her love of teaching, which eventually led her to her current position.
