Applicants for Fall 2027 Matriculation
October 2027
- October 1: 2027-2028 FAFSA opens at https://studentaid.gov/. Submit your FAFSA to UGA using the school code 001598. FAFSA is required for need-based admission scholarship screenings and Federal Student Loan eligibility.
March 2027
- March 1: Deadline to submit your FAFSA to UGA for need-based admissions scholarship consideration.
April 2027
- April 1: Accepted applicants are notified if they received merit- or need-based admissions scholarships from the UGA School of Medicine.
- Accepted applicants receive estimated financial aid offers for Federal Student Loans.
June 2027
- Incoming students receive official financial aid award offers.
- Students should log into their Athena Portal to accept or decline their Federal Student Loan offers.
July 2027
- Students receive their UGA bill for Fall 2027 once enrolled by the SOM Registrar.
- Students should apply for alternative/private student loans no later than July 15 to be applied towards their UGA bill
- July 26-30: Attend orientation
August 2027
- August 2: Classes begin
- Mid-August: Final day to pay UGA bill
